2 is definitely the magic number for ProcessMaker. As most of you know, the release of ProcessMaker 2.0 is just a few weeks away. The halls of our offices are buzzing with excitement. A number of our customers have been testing some of our internal 2.0 BETA editions, and all of the feedback has been tremendous. In fact, we even have 2 customers that have tested the new release under stress tests of several hundred thousand new cases per month, and the speed of the application is absolutely phenomenal.
Even if you are not into numerology, I think you will agree that the number 2 is conspicuously special to the ProcessMaker Open Source BPM project. Could the following correlations really just be a coincidence? I don’t think so but you can decide for yourself.
2.0 The Version of our next stable release due out on March 1st
2,000 The number of Active Community Members on the ProcessMaker Forums (reached last week)
200,000 The number of downloads ProcessMaker will have had by the time Version 2.0 is released
2 The age of my son, our CTO’s son, our Biz Dev Director’s twin sons, and our Product Manager’s little girl
200% Colosa’s revenue growth rate YTD 2011 compared to 2010
So, do you see what I mean? Yes, 2 certainly is special. Undoubtedly, version 3.0 will also be a great version, but I doubt the numbers will line up so perfectly again.
The fact is, at our current run rates, we will reach 3,000 community members and hit 300,000 downloads well before my son turns 3.
So, get ready to enjoy ProcessMaker 2.0.
